Speaking Out, Seeking Justice Do you have a passion to see justice done, to speak out against injustice? Have you ever wondered what our church is doing to advocate for justice where it is needed? You are not alone. Come to a meeting to explore how our church could develop a meaningful role in advocating for justice. Date: Saturday 29 August Time: 7.00pm Venue: 11 Chatsworth Cres, Pakuranga (the home of Bruce and Linda Dixon) RSVP: - online registration link Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” Amos 5:24 “But let justice roll down like water and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Proverbs 31:8-9 “Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out; judge righteously; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?” Luke 4:18–19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Job 29:14-16 “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy, and I championed the cause of the stranger.”

We gently encourage you to remember St Columba in your will or estate plans. Bequests – no matter the size – can help us realize our visions for ministry and mission. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to talk to Caleb. Thank you for your faithful support. Maitland MacFarlan (Board of Managers)
