INTERNATIONAL POT-LUCK DINNER - SAVE THE DATE

RSVP Here by Wednesday 7th October -   we need to know how many to cater for!

ROSTERS

ROSTERS for the months of October and November 2026, for Elders/Supervisors, Welcomers, Readers, Communion and Tea & Coffee servers, at the 9.00am and 10.30am services are now available. Please check your rosters carefully as for some rosters you may be rostered more than once during this two-month period.

For those of you who have provided us with an e-mail address, rosters should have already been e-mailed to you.

Please also note the following:

We are still desperately short of volunteers to serve Tea and Coffee after both services, but particularly the 10.30am service where we are now down to only seven people, and this is not sustainable.

If we are unable to get more volunteers, we may be forced to suspend the serving of Tea & Coffee after the 10.30am service. If you are able to help on a regular basis, please let the Church office know.

Have you been part of our church community for a while, but aren’t sure how to get involved?

Are you wondering whether there’s a place for someone like you to serve? The answer is yes! If you have a heart to serve and a desire to be part of what God is doing here, we welcome you to step in and make a difference. No matter your experience, there’s a place for you.

Learn more about the many opportunities to serve.

We gently encourage you to remember St Columba in your will or estate plans. Bequests – no matter the size – can help us realize our visions for ministry and mission. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to talk to Caleb. Thank you for your faithful support.

TEARFUND APPEAL

Flash floods and mudslides have swept through communities in central Nepal, causing widespread devastation. Homes, roads and vital infrastructure have been destroyed, and the death toll continues to climb. Families have watched their homes and possessions wash away with many also desperately searching for loved ones. Cut off and facing this widespread damage, these communities need humanitarian assistance quickly.

Recent reporting continues to warn of secondary flood risk linked to a debris-blocked or barrier lake near the flood site. Reuters reported warnings from Nepal and China that water was pooling in lakes formed by debris blockages, while ICIMOD-linked reporting notes that any remaining blockage in the Lhende Khola/Bhote Koshi system could generate another sudden release if it fails.

COMMUNITY NOTICES

Kick back and save lives in Botany this September with the New Zealand Blood Service!

Every 18 minutes, someone in New Zealand needs blood or blood products. Every week, we need 5,000 donations to meet patient needs and keep our blood supply strong. Just one blood donation can save up to 3 lives. When you donate blood, you’re making a lifesaving difference in communities across New Zealand.

Blood donations are used to treat people going through cancer, or kidney, liver & heart disease. They’re also used for people undergoing surgery, and those who have been in traumatic accidents, as well as being used to create lifesaving medications to help people living with autoimmune & bleeding disorders.

Donate blood at the Botany mobile blood drive, at St Columba at Botany on Wednesday 23rd September from 1:00pm – 6:00pm.

The whole process should take about 30 – 45 minutes (from filling out the health questionnaire to eating a chocolate biscuit (or two!) at the end). Make a booking HERE, on the NZ Blood app, or call 0800 448 325 Take our eligibility quiz HERE.
