SCAM ALERT

You may be aware that there is a scam email that was sent this week, not only to current congregation members, but also to people who were involved with St Columba many years ago — in some cases, more than 10 years ago.

Rev Caleb wants to assure you that he would never ask anyone outside the church office to purchase gift cards on his behalf and that this was not from his email address - it was a fake email address. Any such request should be treated as fraudulent.

It is also important to note that this is not an Elvanto issue. In fact, Elvanto is a very secure platform for sending emails, as it does not expose recipients' email addresses to one another. This means that if an individual's email account is compromised, other email addresses are not affected through Elvanto.

As a general rule, any genuine email from St Columba staff will come from an email address ending in @stcolumba.org.nz. If an email claiming to be from St Columba comes from any other domain, please do not respond and report it to the church office immediately.

Have you been part of our church community for a while, but aren’t sure how to get involved?

Are you wondering whether there’s a place for someone like you to serve? The answer is yes! If you have a heart to serve and a desire to be part of what God is doing here, we welcome you to step in and make a difference. No matter your experience, there’s a place for you.

Learn more about the many opportunities to serve.

We gently encourage you to remember St Columba in your will or estate plans. Bequests – no matter the size – can help us realize our visions for ministry and mission. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to talk to Caleb. Thank you for your faithful support.
