MSB CONGREGATIONAL PROFILE

  • This Sunday 14 August immediately after the 10:30am service, in the chapel.

JOB VACANCY

You will be aware that we currently have a vacancy for the position of Office Administrator and this is now being advertised. If you know of anyone who may be a good fit for this role, please pass on this advert. Note that applications close on 2 September.

 BIG BARGAIN BOOK SALE

Once again the Op shop has a wide selection of books for all ages and range of topics, and jigsaw puzzles. These are displayed on the sales tables as you enter the auditorium., and will be on sale for the next two Sundays only. Please make your payment in the honesty box, or use the EFTPOS machine at the Welcome desk.

Some of the more prominent books will have a marked price, but no more than $5, and the remainder are by gold coin donation.

We are desperately short of sound desk operators, especially for the 8:30am services. If you have any inclination towards sound, or even a basic technical ability, you can be trained to be one of our team. Contact admin@stcolumba.org.nz or talk to John Roscoe or one of our 'Sunday Soundies' on Sunday.

MANUKA HONEY  FOR SALE

We have a range of Nelson Honeys for sale - including monofloral Manuka honey, Honeydew honey and Nectar Ease which contains bee venom.  There is also a special offer for some of the Manuka honey which is close to it's 'best by' date. Some people have asked if the honey has expired, but here is an extract from a heath and nutrition specialist.

"Honey never expires. The healthy sweetener—which contains antibacterial proteins and enzymes as well as plenty of antioxidants—is good forever. Seriously. Kept sealed in an airtight container, the National Honey Board says honey remains edible indefinitely—even if it crystalizes or darkens over time. Case in point? In 2015, archeologists discovered pots containing 3,000-year-old honey in an Egyptian tomb. They could have stirred some into their tea right then and there because it was very much still edible."

However because the Manuka UMF rating cannot be guaranteed beyond the Best By date, some of our honey is reduced to only $10 a jar. Please ask at the Welcome desk.  All proceeds go towards the mission of St Columba church

Please  invite friends and family to this service for all ages but especially appealing to children.

24 September REMEMBERING WITH LOVE
This special service on SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER at 2pm is to remember loved ones such as our families and friends who have passed away during the last two years. 'Remembering with Love' will be a service of acknowledgement, of thanksgiving, word, music and prayer. We envision the service to bring comfort, peace and the awareness of God's ongoing healing, love and compassion.

All ages are warmly welcomed to this special time and there will be light refreshment afterwards.

Please contact Trish Woodcock (021 11 80759 or trishjwoo@xtra.co.nz) if you would like to remember your loved ones at the Service. We would appreciate a photo of your loved ones if you are comfortable with that.  We will share further details in the next two months.
